Job description
At Sensys Gatso, we are passionate about saving lives by changing traffic behavior. As the world market leader in traffic enforcement solutions, our goal is simple: to make roads safer for everyone. We're not just building products; we're using technology to create a better world.
We are looking for an ambitious and talented Software Engineer Intern (student) with a strong interest in hardware to join our engineering team in Haarlem. This is a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of software and hardware, directly impacting the performance and capabilities of our life-saving products. Your work will involve developing, optimizing, and testing the software that powers our advanced traffic enforcement systems, ensuring they are as efficient and effective as possible. This internship is a chance to grow professionally, learn from experienced engineers, and see your work deployed in real-world solutions that make a difference.
Your project(s) will be hands-on, challenging, and directly contribute to our mission of creating safer roads. You will have the opportunity to choose a project that aligns with your interests and skills:
Firmware and Driver Development: Dive deep into our hardware platform. You'll work on developing and enhancing the firmware and drivers that control these components, ensuring seamless communication and operation.
System Performance and Optimization: Analyze and optimize the performance of our existing software on our embedded systems. Your goal will be to maximize the efficiency of our products, reduce latency, and ensure our systems can handle the demands of real-time traffic monitoring.
Hardware Abstraction Layer (HAL) Enhancement: Contribute to the development of our HAL, the critical software layer that allows our applications to interact with the hardware. You'll work on creating a more robust and flexible HAL to support new features and future hardware platforms.
Automated Hardware Testing and Validation: Design and implement automated testing procedures to validate the performance and reliability of our hardware and software. Your work will ensure our products meet the highest standards of quality and accuracy.

Strong programming skills in Golang, C++ and/or Python.
Not been shy for embed- and/or linux-based operating systems
A solid understanding of computer architecture and embedded systems.
